The Bridge Between Continents is a small footbridge across a sandy fissure at Sandvík on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The gap marks the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, which drift apart a little every year, so you can cross from one continent to the other on foot.
There is a car park beside the road and the walk to the bridge takes a few minutes. From the hotel it is about 25 minutes by car, and Gunnuhver and the Reykjanes lighthouse are a short drive further on.
